Drug Testing
- Capable of Presumptively Identifying Several Families of Substances
- Designed to Function as a Transportable Nacrotics Laboratory
- Each Test is Comprised of One or More Chemical Reagents
- Occurence of Predictable Color/Colors Indicates a Presumed Positive Confirmation
There is no drug identification system presently in use that completely eliminates the occurrence of false positives and false negatives. A forensic laboratory is required to qualitatively identify an unknown substance.
This reagent was designed to presumptively identify the synthetic methamphetamine methylenedioxypyrovalerone or MDPV. A positive result for MDPV will yield a yellow or yellowish-green color.
The MDPV formulation of “Bath Salts” is the most common, therefore testing for all substances suspected to be “Bath Salts” should start with the NARK20024 MDPV Reagent and, if testing is negative or inconclusive, the officer should then move on to the NARK20025 Mephedrone Reagent.
